Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: February 1, 2026

Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) governs how you may use the Cortex platform. By using our services, you agree to comply with these guidelines. Violation may result in suspension or termination of your account.

Permitted Use

Cortex is designed for building, monitoring, and governing AI agent systems in business and research contexts. You may use the platform to orchestrate agents, analyze traces, manage approvals, and integrate with your existing tools and workflows.

Prohibited Activities

You may not use Cortex to: deploy agents that generate illegal content; conduct unauthorized surveillance; distribute malware or spam; attempt to circumvent rate limits or security controls; impersonate other users or organizations; or process data in violation of applicable privacy laws.

Agent Governance

You are responsible for the actions of agents deployed through your account. All agent actions must comply with applicable laws and regulations. High-risk agent actions should be configured with appropriate human-in-the-loop approval gates.

Resource Limits

Fair usage policies apply to API calls, token consumption, and storage. Sustained usage significantly exceeding your plan limits may be throttled. Enterprise customers can negotiate custom limits.

Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to abuse@cortex.ai. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
